Description

Very rare vintage Cricket game and the only example I’ve ever come across . The game appears complete and comprises: A game board with chart to determine runs, dismissals etc.; Instructions printed on card; Blank Score sheets.

The Batsman’s scores are calculated using a rather ingenious mechanism.  Consecutive pairs of letters are taken from a random passage of text (e.g. Newspaper).  The letters are used to establish the vertical and horizontal components on the game board chart, the intersection displays the number of runs scored, if any, or alternatively, indicates an appeal for a wicket, denoted by OZ (Owzatt!).  Using this clever method of scoring ensures that no two matches are the same.

A lovely old game, ideal for those rare occasions when the real game is delayed due to inclement British weather!

Please refer to all the photos, as these form an integral part of the item description.
