Description

A simple roll & move game with hazards / advances listed in the rules.  This is a rare pre-war game made in England by Spear’s Games.  The game features a German Junkers 52 transport aircraft. which was used as a passenger plane in the early 1930’s, before being pressed into service as a German troop carrier during WWII.  Not sure how this affected the game’s popularity in Britain at the time!  The game is complete and in good condition as shown.

No date is indicated on the box or board. although the Patent number of 7892/28 (appearing beneath the instructions) would seem to suggest a design date of 1928.  However, as the Junkers 52 aircraft was introduces into service in 1931, this is the earliest possible date for the game.  There are a few references to the game online, estimating it’s date between 1932 and 1939.  Personally, I suspect the actual date to be in the early to mid 30’s, c.1932-1935.
