“A fascinating Cricket Game”
Here we have a rare 1st edition of the classic Test Match Cricket game. The game is set in a cricket ground and simulates a cricket match using a pair of randomizers. These generate different images to indicate the Bowler’s delivery type and the Batsman’s stroke. As the game progresses, the team scores are recorded on the integrated working scoreboard until all the batsman are out.
Dating from 1955, the game was made in England by John Waddington of Leeds. This superb vintage British game is complete and in good working order. Includes copy of the instruction card. Great artwork which really creates a wonderful atmosphere for the game.
Please refer to all the photos as these form an integral part of the item description
Description from boardgamegeek site:
“This is not so much of a game as a device for simulating a test match. The board holds a score board and two rotating randomizers. The bowler rotates his handle to first ball of the over and back to the start, revealing a type of ball (leg break, bouncer, etc). The batsman rotates his handle to the type of ball bowled, and back again, revealing a batsman scoring runs or being dismissed. If you know the rules of cricket, it’s obvious how to simulate a test match given these rules.”
