Description

This charming card / board game was produced in the early 1950’s when the popularity of Motorcycle Speedway in Britain was at its height.  The wonderful period artwork on the box and game components really sets the scene.   It was designed by Sidney Chapman who sold the rights to the publishers for £100 in 1949.  This is a very fine and complete example of the game Skid-o which has minimal signs of use.  The game includes all six playing pieces with their wooden bases, a full complement of 50 playing cards in good order and the canvas backed Speedway track.  The original Rules are also included.  A rare Pepys Series game, published in 1951 by Castell Brothers of London and Glasgow.
