Description
Glass topped dexterity puzzle featuring a pair of wooden dice. The idea is to try and manoeuvre the dice into the correct position and in the right orientation. This was one of a many puzzles made in England by R Journet of London. There is some loss of paper around the edge of the puzzle, but the glass lid is still in place and intact.
“A good puzzle should be simple in idea. It should explain itself without any long instructions and it should look attractive.” Robert William Journet, 1927
R Journet puzzles were produced over a long period, from the 1890’s right through to the 1960’s. I estimate this particular example to date from the 1950’s.
