A very rare post-War wooden action Soccer game in original box with wonderful period artwork. The game appears to be complete, but sadly the simple spring, used for the Striker’s kicking action, has broken. Although this is unfortunate, it is probably the main reason why the game has managed to survive in such good condition and with little use. If desired, the Striker figure can be easily disassembled with a single screw and it would not be difficult to add a new spring and reattach with staples. In any case, I expect his playing days are behind him now, being well into his Seventies! The box has some storage bowing to the base but is otherwise in very good order with all corners intact. A beautiful display piece which would grace any collection. Made in England by Chad Valley of Harborne, the game was published in 1950.
