Description

“All Skill!  All Thrill!  Share at Home – The Sport of Kings”

A complete 1940’s Parlour game with contents in very good condition for age.  The game consists of five card horses which are raced along the floor by means of a string.  The string is threaded through the horse and attached to a stationary object, e.g. chair leg.  Players (jockeys) propel their Mounts along the track by gently pulling the end of the string back and forth.

This simple yet charming  game is constructed using basic materials.  It was manufactured in 1948, when Britain was experiencing austerity measures due to the economic impact of WW2.   Very unusual to find a complete, boxed example with original instructions.

The box is marked ‘Made in England, F.F. Games Limited’.  The instructions state ‘G.B. Patent Applied, No. 16482/48’.  The box measures 34 x 20 x 4 cm.
