“The new Soccer Game of Skill”
Very rare early British Football game in nice complete condition. Believed to date from the early 1940’s, this ‘Pepys Series’ game contains a full complement of 10 painted lead figures. A badge on the Game Board indicates the year (Estab. 1941), along with a latin motto “Lubi Spiritum Ad Promovendum” (I want to promote the spirit). There are two sets of original instructions, one loose and printed on card, the other attached inside the box. Apart from the inevitable bowing after over 80 years in storage, the box is also in good order with all corners intact. A rare survivor for a specialist museum or games collector with an interest in Football memorabilia.
