Description

‘The Nipper’ was a popular comic strip which ran in the Daily Mail newspaper between 1933 and 1947.  The character was the creation of cartoonist Brian White.  If you’re interested, there are examples of his work on the Brian White Archive Blog.

The game is loosely based on Snakes and Ladders and shows The Nipper getting into various scrapes.  It was made in England by Spears and is thought to date from the 1940’s. period.  The game is in good vintage condition and contains a Wooden Shaker, a bone Dice and six coloured counters (some bone).  Instructions are printed on the underside of the box lid.  The box has the usual age related scuffs and a couple of minor repairs to the lid.
