1938 TOTOPOLY Horse Racing Game by John Waddington, Leeds

Description

This is the very rare first edition of Totopoly, dating from the 1930’s.  This deluxe version, identifiable by the red/black banding of the board & box, features hand-painted cast lead horses, rather than the stamped, card or plastic horses of later editions.  Although used, the game is in excellent condition for it’s age.  All the horses, with the exception of one, are in good order as shown.  Sadly, one horse (No.12) has part of a front leg missing (see photo).  The game includes the original Rules and notes by the inventors: Mr Walter Lee and Mr. Roy V Palmer.  Note: In addition to the original Totalisator cards,  I have printed off a few copies, so there’s no need to mark the originals.  Published in 1938, the game was manufactured in England by John Waddington Ltd. of Leeds.
