Description
Well, I suppose I had to list one of these, given the theme of the site! One of the most popular board games ever. Here we have an early U.K. edition of Monopoly, the property trading game, featuring London Street / Railway Station place names.
Believed to be the first U.K. edition, this game was made in England by John Waddington Ltd. of Leeds. It is a pre-War example, dating back to 1936. Complete with all Property / Chance and Community Chest cards and the six metal playing pieces. Also has both dice and the wooden Houses / Hotels. The game board is still in one piece with the usual paper split on the internal surface, where the board folds. The original rules are also present. Overall, a good, honest example of this all-time classic.
Please refer to all the photos, as these form an integral part of the item description.
