1930’s GWR Wooden Jigsaw Puzzle of Georgian Bath by Chad Valley, England

Here’s a rare G.W.R. Jigsaw Puzzle of Bath Abbey and the Roman Baths.   The historical scene shows characters in period Georgian dress.  The game is boxed and in good vintage condition as shown.  All of the wooden pieces are still present (see completed photo).

These quality jigsaws were commissioned by The Great Western Railway Company (GWR) to promote their network.  Bath Spa Railway Station is on the Main line between London and Bristol.  The puzzle was manufactured by Chad Valley, Harborne and is estimated to date from the 1930’s.  The box measures 9.5 x 6 x 3 inches.  The completed puzzle is 15 inches wide.
