Description
This rather curiously named vintage board game is in good complete condition. An abstract strategy game, loosely based on Association Football (Soccer), it consists of a single-fold board, a small box containing 22 wooden playing pieces and the instruction booklet. All parts are original period pieces. I have estimated the publication date c.1930’s, based on the game’s style, construction and age related patina. Following further research, it seems that the Registration Number, printed on the board (759610), would bear this date out. According to National Archives website, this number was issued between 1929 and 1931 (see last photo) Some online sources show a later 1950’s date for the game, but I have not seen any evidence to support this claim. Although the maker’s name is not shown, the booklet does indicate their address… 273, Acton Vale, London, W3.
