“The Old Favourite”
This early version of the classic Card game is in excellent condition as shown. It includes a full complement of 36 cards, all in very good order and with little sign of use. There are 12 sets of 3 cards, depicting different street vendors. The box is also very good with all corners of base and lid intact. The game even includes the original rules!
The design of the cards is the same as earlier sets produced by Roberts Brothers (Glevum Games) and previously by Woolley & Co. which was taken over by Roberts. The box design was adapted over the years and this version is known as ‘Elf’ edition. It was manufactured in the 1920’s and this example has a hand written pencil inscription on the base of the box… ‘Violet 1929‘.
