Description
A rare game board, believed to date from the 1920’s (at the latest). This is the only example of the game I’ve ever come across. It consists of the game board only which is in good condition for its age. The board bears the inscription “M.I.P. Co. Ltd. London“. From research, I think this is likely to be an abbreviation of Multum in Parvo (Latin for much in little). This London based company was founded in 1884 and published games until 1927. Although the rules are no longer present, I imagine the goal was to move along the track and accrue the largest catch by landing on positions containing named fish and noting their weight. The player with the heaviest haul being the winner. This woderful game would make an excellent display piece for a museum or private collector.
