Description
Here’s an extremely rare dexterity puzzle dating from the early twentieth century. The glass-fronted case features two wooden figures, Tweedledum and Tweedledee. These figures have cone-shaped heads and the idea of the game is to manoeuvre two loose caps to rest on their heads. The task is made even more difficult, as the caps are colour coded. Interestingly, the back-drop of the game shows a scaled-down version of an image from another Spears game of the period; Coppit and Cappit (see separate listing here). I have never seen another example of this game, so I imagine it’s very rare. Designed in England and manufactured for export at the Spears Works in Bavaria.
