Description

Here we have a lovely example of a very rare game, dating from the early twentieth century.  There are no instructions but the game appears to be complete with all five targets / metal stands and the spring-loaded metal gun with plenty of projectiles.  Although more of a display piece these days, the gun is still in working order.

A ‘scenery’ card is attached to the box base and folds up into a vertical position for play.  It is held in position with a support at the rear.  The five Targets are placed behind the holes on the card.  The number of points scored for hitting each target are indicated on the front of the scenery card.

The game was made in England by Chad Valley of Harborne.  It is estimated to date from the 1920’s.

Box measures 32 x 17 x 2 cm.
