Description

A wonderful antique game, featuring a laughing Policeman character.  The stiff card figure stands up in a slot at the back of the box base.  The idea of the game is to throw the cardboard discs (“Coppers”) at the figure, attempting to get them through the holes to score points.  Discs that miss the holes and bounce back into the tray can also score points, if they are clear of the lines.  There are four original discs remaining, three red and one blue.  It is unclear how many the game would have had originally, but these could be easily replicated if required.  Game instructions are printed on the playing surface as shown.

The game is in good condition for age, with superb artwork.  The edges of the box lid have been sympathetically restored, using quality card and wood glue, to replace two missing sides.  Overall, a fine example of a very rare game.  The Box measures 15.5 x 8 x 1.5 inches.

A “Glevum” Series game, made in England by Roberts Brothers of Gloucester.
