Description

Extremely rare antique Shooting Game, estimated to date from the pre-WWI Edwardian period (c.1900’s to 1910’s).  The only indication of manufacturer is a small ‘Spear Series’ logo on the box label.  This is an early mark used by J W Spear & Sons Ltd.  At this time their games were designed in England and produced at a factory in Bavaria, Germany for export to English speaking countries.  The game is in good vintage condition with superb artwork, typical of the period.  Would make an excellent display item.

The Horse piece slots into two wooden blocks secured into the box base,  The Indian Chief target piece balances on a square peg attached to the back of the Horse.  Originally there would have also been a simple spring-loaded gun of wire form for shooting wooden projectiles.  These were generic items, used across a wide variety of games.

Please refer to all the photos as these form an integral part of the item description.
