Description
Here’s an early version of a classic British Parlour game, popular in the early twentieth century. The game was manufactured by numerous companies using various names. The idea is to get a straight line of five pegs of the same colour on the grid. This early version is called Check-a-Peg. The box is marked ‘Made in England’ but there is no indication of the maker, which was typical of the period. The game is estimated to date from the 1920’s. The green pegs of this set have faded over time and have an ‘X’ marked on the top of each to differentiate from the yellow pegs.
