Description
Dating from the early twentieth century, circa 1915, this Chad Valley Tidleywinks set is in remarkable condition. Children were taught to look after their posessions back in those days! The sturdy box contains the original wooden target cup and a large selection of bone Tidleywinks. The name ‘Ralph Pugh‘ is marked on the underside of the wooden cup. It may be fanciful, but this may have been the childhood toy of an eminent historian with the same name (info here). The age of the game would certainly corroborate this theory and its not a common name?
