Description
Here’s a very early version of a classic Horse Racing board game. The game is complete with the board, four painted metal playing pieces and a small bone dice. The contents are in very good condition with little sign of use. Instructions, along with adverts for other games, are printed on the underside of the box lid. The box lid has an applied chromolithograph label with superb artwork of a horse racing scene. The box has a few scuffs commensurate with age and two internal corner repairs to the lid. Designed in England, the game was made at the Spear Works, Bavaria and is estimated to date from the early twentieth century c.1910’s.
Note: There is a modern reproduction of this game. Rest assured that this is an original period piece.
