1910’s Hot Potatoes Game by Roberts Brothers (Glevum), England

Description

Very early British Parlour game in good condition for age.  This seems to be a very rare game and I was unable to find any information online.  Going by the instructions, which are attached to the underside of the box lid, the game still retains the required components, but quantities may have been reduced over the years.  However, this does not detract from this wonderful item which oozes plenty of vintage charm.

Although marked as ‘Made in England’, the box does not indicate a manufacturer, which was common for games of this period.  It is estimated to date from the early twentieth century (c.1900-1920).  Apart from a short section of the lid edge missing (see photo), the box is in relatively good condition with superb artwork on the lid.

I have been reliably informed that the game was produced by Roberts Brothers (Glevum) of Gloucester, England.
