Description

“A King amongst its Peers”

Here’s a very scarce British card game, dating from the Edwardian period.  Published by Leonard Beswick, 78 & 80 Pinstone Street, Sheffield, England.  The complete set of 54 beautifully illustrated cards are in superb condition with little sign of use as shown.  The original two-part box and instructions haven’t fared quite so well, but the box is structurally sound with sympathetic hidden repairs to internal corners.  The game includes the original documentation and scorepad (see photos).  This very rare version of the game is not currently shown on the boardgamegeek site, which identifies two different examples made in London and Edinburgh.  The box and rules of this game are marked ‘Patent Applied For’ so I believe this to be the first edition of the game.  There is also a dedication to The Speaker of The House of Commons – The Rt. Hon. James W. Lowther M.P.

Please refer to all the photos as these form an integral part of the item description
