1900’s The Game of Hunting by Roberts Brothers (Glevum), Gloucester, England

Description

This extremely rare antique game board is in very good condition for age.  The game is featured in Malcolm J. Watkins book ‘Games Makers to The Empire’. (Vol 1).  There are several versions described, this example would appear to be the higher quality, board only, version on a heavy, two-fold board with cloth ‘hinges’.  There are three lead playing pieces remaining with the game.  Two of the horses have a broken leg, the third (white) is intact and still standing.   There is no indication of the date on the board (or in the book) but I have estimated it to be from the early Twentieth Century, c.1900’s.
