Description

Here’s an extremely rare Edwardian boardgame, thought to date from the early Twentieth century, c.1900’s. “Race to London” consists of a double-fold map board depicting the British Isles.  Players compete to be the first to reach London, starting in northern Scotland and passing through Ireland and Wales before reaching the Capital.  As with many early games, this has an educational element, teaching players the geographical locations of cities, towns and major rivers.  The game includes bone counters / dice and shaker.  The original Rules are printed on a label inside the box as shown.  Made in England by Chad Valley of Harborne.
