Description

Here’s a rare antique British Parlour game from the Edwardian Period.  One of the Q&A Cards refers to King Edward VII (see photo) which dates it between 1901 and 1910.  There are some fascinating questions on the cards, which really date the piece.  For example… Question. What is the nominal English value of a U.S. Dollar?  Answer. 4 / 2 (4 shillings and 2 pennies) or 21p.  I wish!  Another card refers to the speed of a train being more than a mile a minute (60mph).  Not sure how many cards there would have been originally, but 105 remain, which I guess would be the majority.  The game Rules are printed on a label, attached to the underside of the hinged box lid.  Made in England by Chad Valley, who couldn’t resist adding a card referring to themselves!  Overall, a wonderfull period piece with great artwork on the box label.
