1870 Jaques’ Illustrated Proverbs, London

Description

Here’s a fine example of the antique First Series Illustrated Proverbs card game by Jaques of London c.1870.  There is a complete Deck of 63 cards in good condition for age, as shown.  This would make a wonderful display piece for a museum or private collector.  Its original two-piece sleeved box is present in the condition shown. I have also included a printed copy of the rules (available online).   A rare mid-Victorian game with some delightful hand-coloured engavings by Phiz.
